Please call Rod at 916-203-4204, or email us at rod@discipleaudio.com to discuss your project. We can accommodate almost anytime during the day - 9am to 5pm. We realize that people have jobs and these hours are when they work. Evening hours are harder to come by, but I'm sure we can work something out. We can also have mobile recording available. Please visit our "F.A.Q." section under the "Contact" page for information on cost and scheduling.
We are blessed to have some of the greatest tools for recording that you can have. The people involved in this ministry have invested themselves for over 30 years in the music industry. With the advent of the digital world, the precision of the recording studio of old is now at the fingertips of those who could not resist there calling. That's us. We have over 50 industry-standard mics: brand names of Neuman, Shure, AKG, Sennheiser, Audia Technica, Rhode, and more. We also have the state-of-the-art digital software and hardware such as Pro tools, Steinberg, Mackie, Yamaha, Reason and more. We can accommodate your needs with outboard gear - reverb units, compressors, gates, special effects, Amp modelers from line-6, keyboards, synth modules, drums, and digital drums. If we don't have it, we can probably get it.
Looking to begin the journey to realize your dream of creating a CD? Here is some of the information you need in planning to make your first visit.
Recording tips
* You should figure roughly 1/2 hour of setup time.
* Don't be intimidated. Be comfortable and stay loose. You can't create while you're uncomfortable.
* Make sure your instruments are in good shape. Guitars should be able to play chords in tune up and down the neck, no matter which fret you are on. Put new strings on your guitar two days before the session so they have a chance to stretch out. Make sure you tune the guitar several times in those two days so that they get used to being at correct pitch. Check your 12th fret notes vs. harmonics and adjust your bridges accordingly.
* Basses should have new strings and drums should have new heads on snare and tom toms. Make sure the bass drum pedal does not squeak or rattle noisily when played.
* If you can help it, don't bring people to the session that are not directly involved with the project. They will most likely be a distraction.
